Glenn Dean Sanderson

1929 - 2020

Glenn Dean Sanderson, 91, of Eudora, KS, passed away Dec. 18, 2020 at Presbyterian Manor, Lawrence, KS. Private family Graveside service 12:00 noon Tues., Dec. 22, 2020 at Greenwood Cemetery, 1100 E. First St., Newton, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salem United Methodist Church, Newton, KS. Condolences may be left at www.brucefuneralhome.com.

Glenn was born July 22, 1929 in Dodge City, KS to Ernst and Margueritte "Dollie" (Byrne) Sanderson. He grew up in Newton, KS where he graduated from Newton High School in 1947. Glenn earned his BA in music from Bethany College and is Master's Degree from Wichita State University. He served in the US Navy Military band from 1951 to 1955. Glenn later moved to Illinois where he taught Junior High Instrumental Music at East Peoria, Illinois and played in the Peoria Symphony Orchestra. He moved back to De Soto, Kansas in 2019 to be near family. He was a Member of Salem United Methodist Church, Newton, KS and a member of the Bethany Alumni Assoc. Glenn will be missed by family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Goulding. Glenn is survived by his three nieces: Kathleen, Denise, Marietta, and a nephew Michael and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
