GRAPEVINE,
Texas - Jay C. Ramsey, 82, of Grapevine, died Friday (March 16, 2007) in
Grapevine.
He was born
Oct. 19, 1924, in Wichita to Clinton G. and Mildred Grace (Morris) Ramsey. Both
are deceased. He is a retired farmer.
On Aug. 8,
1943, he married Margaret Catherine Ropp in Halstead. She died March 17, 1999.
Survivors
include a son, Joel Allan Ramsey of Gainsville, Ga.; a daughter, Janelle Ramsey
of Grapevine; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was
preceded in death by a son, James J. Ramsey; brother, Clinton Ramsey Jr.; and a
sister, Edna Jane Wise.
Services
will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sedgwick Christian Church in Sedgwick with the
Rev. Kim Beckwith officiating.
Visitation
will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead. Family
will greet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley
Cemetery in Bentley.
Memorial
contributions may be made to Sedgwick Christian Church in care of the funeral
home.
