Archie A. Schmidt

Archie A. Schmidt, 72, died Jan. 17, 2021, at Newton Medical Center. He was born Oct. 3, 1948, in Newton to Art and Ruth (Unrau) Schmidt. He married Kristin Matthies Sept. 15, 1973, in Wichita. Survivors include: wife, Kristin Schmidt of rural Peabody; son, Luke (Sarah) Schmidt of College Station, Texas; daughters, Jody Schmidt of Chicago, Ill, Katy Schmidt of Great Bend; sister, Ada (Wes) Schmidt-Tieszen of Newton; granddaughter, Eva Sue Schmidt. Predeceased by: son, Alan Schmidt in 1985, and a sister, Elaine Bartel in 2014. Celebration of Life service delayed due to COVID 19.
