Reber, Harry

Harry Edward Reber, a pioneer farmer of Harvey county, who retired several years ago, died Thursday evening, June 5, at 7:45 p.m., at the Axtell Christian Hospital, following a heart attack, which was first suffered June 2, when he entered the hospital.  For the past five years Mr. Reber had been living with his son Walter and family in El Dorado.  The Reber farm home for many years was just northwest of Newton.

He is survived by the following children:  Mrs. Ward Spangler, Newton; Henry B. Reber, rural Newton; Gilbert L. Reber, rural Sedgwick; Mrs. Richard Rose, rural Hesston; Robert Earl Reber, St. Louis, Mo., and Walter C. Reber, El Dorado.  He leaves also three brothers and three sisters in Pennsylvania, his native state, where he was born March 11, 1869.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon, June 9, at 2:30 at the First Methodist Church, of which he was a member, with Rev. S.W. Keller, former Pastor, who conducted the funeral of Mrs. Reber, who died in 1933, and Rev. Forrest E. Rohl, present Pastor officiating.  Burial will be in the family lot in Greenwood cemetery, with the five sons and a son-in-law acting as casket bearers.  Friends may see Mr. Reber at the Moody's Funeral Chapel any time Sunday afternoon or evening.
