DeWane H. Schmidt
HESSTON -- DeWane H. Schmidt, 41, died July 15, 1994, at his home in Hesston.
He was born May 20, 1953, at Goessel, the son of Jacob Schmidt and Laura Schroeder Schmidt. He was a graduate of Manhattan Vocational-Technical School and the Kansas State Police Academy. A Hesston resident for 20 years, he worked inside sales at Murdock Supply, McPherson, had been employed by Hesston Corp. for 11 years, the Harvey County Sheriff's Department and the Hesston Police Department for nine years.
He was a member of the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, near Goessel.
On April 24, 1991, he married Donita Buethe at Newton. She survives.
Other survivors include: parents, Goessel; and three brothers, Vernon, Newton, and Norman and Larry, both of Goessel.
Funeral will be at 2 p. m. Tuesday at the Alexanderwohl Mennonite church, near Goessel, with the Revs. Dennis Schmidt and Mark Wiens presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p. m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, Hesston. Burial will be in the Goessel Cemetery.
