Donald R. Bombardier
1946 - 2021
On January 14th, 2021 the world lost a
great soul! Don was affectionately known by many nicknames: Dad,
Bubba, Bomber and Donnie! Don passed away unexpectedly after a short
hospital stay in Kansas and Denver, CO
He was born in Concordia Kansas on
11/2/1946 to Jerome and Evaline (Cyre) Bombardier. At 3 years old
they moved to Newton, KS where Don attended St. Mary's Catholic
School and Newton High school, graduating in 1964.Shortly after
graduation he joined the Air National Guards. In 1966 Don married Ann
Adams in Newton KS. They were married for 12 years and remained close
friends until her death in 2019. His entire career was spent working
on the Railroad for 33 years as a machinist. He spent the majority of
his Railroad career in Pueblo, CO. After retirement, he moved to
Hawaii with his daughter then to Florida. In 2017 he moved back to
Newton KS to be near his sister
Don was preceded in death by his
parents, step-mom Lois Bombardier, brother Jerry Wayne and sister
Phyllis Haviland. He was survived by sister Mary Jane Tipton of
Newton, KS and two loving children Annette Madonna of Nathrop
Colorado and son Troy Bombardier of Cape Coral Florida. Son in law
John Madonna and daughter in law Katrina Bombardier and last but not
least, two grandsons Wyatt Madonna and Rowdy Bombardier.
Anyone who knows Don, knows how much he
enjoyed golfing, archery, elk hunting in the Colorado mountains with
his buddies, exercising and enjoying the outdoors! We'll all miss him
dearly!
