Hutto, TX- Merlin Charles Dean, 79,
died Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Round Rock, TX.
He was born April 1, 1941 at Wichita,
KS to Otis Cecil and Elsie Mildred (Owens) Dean.
He was a longtime grocer working for
Mr. D'S, KMart Grocery and Safeway Groceries throughout the years
before retiring from Mid-Continent Cabinetry, Newton.
He was a member of Trinity Baptist
Church, Austin.
On April 23, 1966 he married Elaine
Faye Graber at Faith Mennonite Church Newton, she survives of the
home.
He is also survived by sons: Brent
Dean, Overland Park, KS; Darren (Pam) Dean, Loveland, CO; daughter,
Tamera (Craig) Bourne, Hutto, TX; brother: Ronald Dean, Wichita;
sisters: Bonnie Valdois, Haven, Mary Kay Graber, Halstead; seven
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers
Gerald, Donald and Ross Dean and a sister, Iris Cole.
Viewing will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m.,
Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead. The
family will greet friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m.
A graveside service will be 10:30 a.m.,
Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Bentley, KS.
Memorials may be given to Trinity
Baptist Church, Austin, TX in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
