John Allen Walker
HALSTEAD -- John Allen Walker, 93,
retired rancher, died Saturday (March 30, 2002) at Presbyterian Manor
in Newton. He was born to George Ralph and Olive (Rowley) Walker in
Sun City. He married Ella E. Gaddis Dec. 19, 1931, in Coldwater. She
preceded him in death Aug. 25, 1985. He married Adelle M. Prescott
Jan. 18, 1986, in Pratt. She survives of Halstead. He graduated from
Sun City High School and attended Washington State College in
Pullman, Wash. He was a past board member of the Greensburg
Production Credit Association and ranched in the Sun City area for
many years. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Sun City and a
former member of the Pratt Lions Club and the Pratt Elks Lodge.
Other survivors include: a son, Allen
Bevin Walker of Garden City; two daughters, Mary V.Whitford of
Hutchinson and Wanda L. Anderson of Lakewood, Colo.; a stepson,
Cedric Prescott of Salina; a stepdaughter, Barbara Daggett of Kansas
City, Mo,; and four grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by three
brothers and six sisters.
Visitation will be until 8 p. m. today
and from 9 a. m. to service time Wednesday at Calbeck Mortuary in
Pratt.
Funeral service will be 2 p. m.
Wednesday at Calbeck Mortuary.
Burial will be in Soldier Creek
Cemetery in Belvidere. Memorials have been established with Lemon
Park Lights and the American Cancer Society, bot in care of the
