Fred Hubman Jr., 75, of Newton, farmer and Beech Aircraft employee, died Tuesday (May 23, 2000) at Columbia Wesley Medical Center. He was a former longtime Peabody resident.

He was born July 26, 1924, in Germany to Fred Sr. and Lisette (Brenner) Hubman. He married Frances Hubman Nov. 18, 1951. She survives of Newton.

Other survivors include: one son, Gary Hubman of Peabody; two daughters, Linda Carol Simpson of Towanda and Sherry Lynne Schmidt of North Newton; one brother, Richard Lee Hubman of Central Point, Ore.; two sisters, Elizabeth Baker and Rose Mary Miller, both of Newton; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Peabody with Pastor David Randall officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.

Friends may call from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Baker Funeral Home in Peabody.
