Alice M. Unruh
HESSTON - Alice M. Unruh, 80,
died Tuesday (Jan. 10, 2006), at Newton Medical Center. She was born Sept. 8,
1925, to Emil and Irene (O'Melia) Didier in Osage City. They preceded her in
death. She married Cornelius Unruh Sept. 25, 1948, in Newton. He preceded her
in death Aug. 2, 1992. Alice worked in the Santa Fe office as a secretary and
also in medical records. Her love for children and infants drew her to the
Hesston Community Child Care Center. She also enjoyed her Sunday luncheon and
movie with her close friends. Alice could also be found playing dominoes.
Alice held a membership with
the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 971 of Newton.
Survivors include: a daughter
and son-in-law, Cynthia I. (Unruh) Lindsey and husband Clyde of McPherson; a
son, David E. Unruh of Wichita; a sister and companion, Colleen R. Didier and
Jennifer King of Wichita; and grandsons, Jason W. Briar of Sterling and Patrick
L. Briar of Lady Lake, Fla.; and two great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in
death by a brother, John (Jack) E. Didier.
Visitation will be until 9
p.m. today with family greeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Broadway Colonial
Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 10
a.m. Friday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home with Pastors Jason Reynolds and
Kate Moorehead officiating.
Burial will be in Restlawn
Gardens of Memory in Newton.
Memorials have been
established with Hesston Community Child Care Center in care of the funeral
home.
