Evelyn E. Unruh
Evelyn E. Unruh, 86, died
Saturday (Jan. 28, 2006) at Newton Medical Center. She was born Dec. 9, 1919,
to David E. and Sarah (Kroeker) Buller in Turpin, Okla. They preceded her in
death. She married Vernard W. Unruh June 29, 1941, in Perryton, Texas. He
preceded her in death March 7, 1990. Evelyn was a member of Bethel College
Mennonite Church in North Newton. She was a member of the Women's Bowling
Congress. Evelyn was very active in her church. She was a part of the Mission
Quilters and an active member of her church circle. She greatly enjoyed
quilting and bowling and looked forward to spending time with the many friends
she made in those activities. Evelyn also liked to cook and enjoyed gardening
around her home. She also looked forward to visits from her family and friends.
Survivors include: sons, Dr.
Roger D. and Pam Unruh of Towanda and Dr. Gregory L. and Martha Unruh of
Carthage, Mo.; a daughter, Marilyn S. and Stephen Johnson of Newton; brothers,
Vernon Buller of Reedley Calif., Eldo Buller of Hopedale, Ill., and Dr. Ralph
Buller of Hydro, Okla.; sisters, Ida Rempel of Hutchinson, Emily Koehn of
Kingfisher, Okla., Claire Johnson of Meno, Okla., Francis Schultz of Enid, Okla.,
Josie Slagell of Hydro and Ruby Regier of Cleo Springs, Okla.; nine
grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in
death by: three sisters, Albna Mae Logan and infants Alvina and Delores Buller.
Visitation will be from 1 to
9 p.m. Tuesday with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Petersen
Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 10
a.m. Wednesday at Bethel College Mennonite Church.
Burial will be in Greenwood
Cemetery.
Memorials have been
established with Bethel College Mennonite Church in care of the funeral home.
