Mary M. Teachout
Mary M. Teachout, 80 of Coldwater, Mich., died Friday (Oct.
7, 2005) at the Laurels of Coldwater. She was born Oct. 31, 1924, to Robert and
Anna (Babinsky) Wentzel in Newton. She married Gerald Teachout Jan. 18, 1963 in
San Diego. He survives. She graduated in 1936 from Long Beach High School,
attended Long Beach State College, Oregon State University and many other
colleges through the Navy. Mary lived in Ramona, Calif., for 30 years before moving
to Coldwater in 1999. She was a Navy nurse for 15 years and served during the
Korean War. She had worked at a VA Hospital for 15 years and at Pomerado
Hospital in California for 15 years.
Mary attended St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, was a
member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society at
both churches, and the Emaculate Heart of Mary Altar and Rosary Society. She
loved caring for others and her church family. She also enjoyed gardening,
fishing and hunting.
Survivors include: her husband, Gerald; children, Monica
(Bob) DeLauder of Coldwater and Mark (Jennifer) Teachout of Ramona;
grandchildren, Derek, Jacob, Nicholas, Brayden, Bryce; and a great grandson,
Derek Jr.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, brother Tony,
sister Frances and a niece Annette.
Memorial service was earlier today at St. Charles Borromeo
Catholic Church with Father Brian Stanley officiating.
