Michael B. Seeney

1960 - 2021

Michael B. Seeney, 60, died Tuesday (February 2, 2021) at the Newton Medical Center.

He was born on February 27, 1960 in Newton, Kansas, the son of Raymond E. and Florence Maurine Hawk Seeney. His mother died on December 25, 1967 and his father later married Anita Salas on January 19, 1969.

Mike graduated from Newton High School in 1978. Through the years he was involved with Special Olympics playing basketball. He enjoyed bowling at Play-Mor Lanes and visiting with folks up and down Main Street. Mike attended the First United Methodist Church in Newton.

Survivors include his brothers Alan Seeney of Pryor, Okla., and Bill Seeney of Wichita; sisters Beverly Harris and husband Lee of Troy, Tex., and Barbara Weaver and husband Gary of Muskogee, Okla., several nieces and nephews; as well as his close friend Barb Estill of Newton, and cousin and longtime caretaker Pauline Salas of the home.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents; brother James Franklin Seeney in 1951; and step-mother Anita Seeney.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday February 16, 2021 at the Broadway Colonial Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Newton.

Friends will be able to sign the guest book on Monday (February 15th) between 9:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with Special Olympics, contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Ks. 67114.
