Nora Plank

October 14, 2005

Nora Plank, 90, lifetime baker and cook, died Thursday (Oct. 13, 2005) in Greenwood, Ark. She was born Aug. 20, 1915, to John and Benah Troyer near Millersburg, Ohio. They preceded her in death. She married Levi J. Plank Dec. 2, 1937. They were married for 56 years before he preceded her in death at the age of 83. She was the youngest of 10 children, and she was told she was "very spoiled." As an Amish girl, she would walk to the one-room country school with her brothers and sisters not far from their home. Nora loved to bake and cook. She worked many years at Meadowlark Homestead and the Corner Lunch in Newton. Baking was just in her blood, and she was the best there was.

Nora was a member of Harvest Time Tabernacle and served as a part of the C.A.R.E. Sight Group encouraging others. She loved her church and enjoyed the fellowship with members.

Survivors include: a daughter, Mary Tucker and husband Tracy of Greenwood; a son, Roger Plank and wife Mabel of McKenzie, Tenn.; two grandsons, Laverne and Eric Plank of Jackson, Tenn.; four granddaughters, Shannon and Laci Buckelew of Greenwood, Hiddie Loyer of Fort Smith, Ark., and Cassy Tucker of Memphis, Tenn.; and four great-granddaughters, Justice, Faith, Kristin and Grace.
