Thomas Dean Spickelmier
LAWRENCE - Thomas Dean Spickelmier, 59, of Lawrence, died
Thursday (Oct. 13, 2005) at his home. He was born April 25, 1946, to Howard H.
and Lucyle (Clifton) Spickelmier in Enid, Okla. He attended McKinley Grade
School, DeWitt Waller Junior High School and graduated from Enid High School in
1964. He later graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's and
master's degree in accounting. He was a certified public accountant. At Enid
High School, Tom was a letterman on the swimming team, a class officer, a
member of DD social club and a member of the Letterman's Club. At OSU, he was a
member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity, serving as treasurer.
He was a member of the church choirs while he resided in
Manhattan, Newton and Lawrence. He was a member of First Christian Church in
Lawrence. He had recently worked for Eudora Nursing Facility. He was an avid
sports fan.
Survivors include: two sisters, Lynn Spickelmier Butler and
husband Kevin of Manhattan, her daughters and stepmother, Maxine S. Austin of
Enid; Deanna Knotts and husband Tommy of Fort Worth and her children and
grandchildren; a brother, Robert V. Spickelmier and wife Connie of Dardanelle,
Ark., and his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece.
A private inurnment will be in Enid at a later date.
