Clarence L. Troxel
1924 - 2021
Clarence L. Troxel, 96, died Monday
(March 8, 2021) at the Newton Presbyterian Manor.
He was born on September 1, 1924 in Gas
City, Kansas, the son of William Franklin and Dorothy Edwards Troxel.
Clarence was raised and attended schools in Newton.
He married Annie Martha Woffenden on
December 31, 1950 in Newton. They lived in Moran, Kansas for a short
time before returning to Newton in 1955.
Through the years Clarence had worked
in Newton at Meek Electric, American Flour/Ross Industries, Newton
Electric and Genco Construction before retiring in 1989.
Clarence was a founding member of the
New Life Assembly of God Church in Newton where he continued to be an
active member. He had also been a member of the Electricians Union
IBW. Clarence raised rabbits, goats and pigs, he also enjoyed doing
woodworking.
Survivors include his wife Annie of
Newton; son Lenord Troxel and his wife Julia of Belton, Tex.;
daughter Susan Stanford and husband Johnny of Newton; four
grandchildren Jason Troxel and Diedra of Temple, Tex., Tori Harkins
and husband Chris of Austin, Tex., Larry Humphrey of Ft. Lauderdale,
Fla., and James Stanford of Newton; two great grandchildren Piper and
Teagan Harkins of Austin; along with several nieces and nephews.
Clarence is preceded in death by his
parents; brother William Troxel; sisters Eva Pauline "Polly"
Box and Leola May Foiles; and step-mother Leora Stella Troxel.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00
A.M., Friday (March 12, 2021) at the New Life Assembly of God Church
in Newton. Interment will be in the Restlawn Garden of Memories
outside of Newton.
A memorial has been established with
the Alzheimer's and Related Disorders Assoc., contributions may be
sent to the funeral home.
The casket will be open at the funeral
home on Thursday (March 11th) between 1:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
