Deborah Kay (Friday) Davis, 55, died
March 10, 2021, in Ness City, Kansas.
She was born October 20, 1965, in
Newton, Kansas, the daughter of William and Iris (Stine) Friday.
Debbie attended Newton High School where she participated in band,
graduating with the class of 1984. She later attended Newman
University where she received her Bachelor's degree in elementary
education and was currently working on her Master's degree in Special
Education at WSU.
On November 24, 1990, Debbie married
Robert Davis in Newton at Salem United Methodist Church. This past
November the couple celebrated 30 years of marriage.
Debbie had an affinity for music and
loved playing the flute and piccolo and enjoyed counted cross
stitching, going to movies, playing cards and board games.
Debbie will be remembered for vibrant
love of children and her deep enjoyment of watching KU basketball and
football.
Debbie was a brave survivor of uterine
cancer and contributed greatly to helping others by being one of the
first to undergo experimental surgery using the robotic da Vinci
method.
Deborah is survived by her loving
husband, Robert Davis; step-mother, T.J. Friday; brothers, Mike
(Michele) Friday and Ron (Tami) Friday; step-brother, Shawn Spellman;
step-sister, Cindy (Larry) Branson; and many nieces, nephews and
cousins.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, William and Iris Friday.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Monday evening at Petersen Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 16th
from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church, 115
Old Main in Newton, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m..
Following services burial will take place at Restlawn Gardens.
