Corda N. Wilson
Corda N. Wilson, 88, of Newton, died Thursday (Feb. 22, 1996) at her home.
She was born March 27, 1907, in Tazewell, Tenn., to John Nevils and Elizabeth Melton Nevils. She married Dr. Jesse J. Wilson on Aug. 30, 1930, in McCook, Neb. He survives.
She was a Newton resident since September 1995, moving from Oskaloosa where she had lived since 1966. She was a beautician for many years in Oskaloosa and also served as a clerk of the probate court in Jefferson County. She worked in the food service department at the University of Kansas in Lawrence and as an assistant to the sergeant of arms of the Legislature at the State capital in Topeka for over 10 years. She was a member of the Unity Temple in Kansas City, Mo., and the Rebekah Lodge No. 747 in Oskaloosa.
Other survivors include one son, Roger N. of Newton; one sister, Elsie Neidig of Kansas City, Mo.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one grandson, five brothers and four sisters.
The funeral was at 10:30 a. m. today at the Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa with the Rev. Wayne Feuerbacher officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant view Cemetery in Oskaloosa.
