Marsha D. Cox
1941 - 2021
Marsha D. Cox, 79, died Monday (March
22, 2021) at the Ascension Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St.
Francis Campus in Wichita.
She was born on May 24, 1941 in
Wichita, the daughter of Dillon and Dorothy Prouty Crandall.
When she was a child, the family moved
to Rifle, Colorado where her father operated a leather craft
business. They later moved to the Wichita, Kansas area where
graduated from Valley Center High School in 1959.
Marsha married Jerry S. Cox on June 20,
1972 in Miami, Oklahoma. He died on July 18, 2006.
For several years she worked in Newton
at the Anesthesia Billing until retiring in 2020. Marsha had been a
member of the Order of Eastern Star, North Star Chapter #483 in
Wichita and the Daughters of the Nile at the Midian Shrine Temple in
Wichita.
Marsha loved spending time with her
children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family was very
important to her. She was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, whether it
was watching the game on the television or in Arrowhead Stadium.
Marsha was a big cat lover, she enjoyed her Bengal cats.
Survivors include her sons Lance Dale
of Emporia, Ks., Vincent Dale of Newton, Rod Dale of Costa Rica, and
Todd Cox of Derby; step-children Kelly Waters of Lake Stevens, Wash.,
Debra Turner of Norco, Calif., and Patti Cox of Wenatachee, Wash.;
brother Jim Crandall of Valley Center; four grandchildren Rachel Dale
of Overland Park, Ks., Brandon Cox and Janelle Dale both of Wichita,
and Tyler Cox of Derby; along with five great grandchildren.
Marsha is preceded in death by her
parents; husband Jerry; and brother Dillon Crandall.
A Celebration of Life and inurnment in
Greenwood Cemetery will be held at a later date by the family.
A memorial has been established with
Caring Hands Humane Society, contributions may be sent to Broadway
