Mrs. Eva E. Smith, 73, Topeka, died Monday, Jan. 21, at a Topeka Convalescent center.
She was born Oct. 17, 1911, at Newton, the daughter of David and Mary Ruff. She lived at Newton, Pittsburg and Hiawatha before she moved to Topeka in 1943.
She was married to Albert W. Smith April 23, 1930, at Newton. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Richard D. Smith, Garland TX; a daughter, Mrs. Tondra Ann Miller, Topeka; three brothers, Raymond Ruff, Henry Ruff and Herman Ruff, all of Newton; two sisters, Mrs. Esther Anderson, Wichita, and Mrs. Alvina Billeter, Hutchinson, and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 pm Wednesday at Mount Hope Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Smith will lie in state at Tibbitts-Griffin Highland Chapel from 1 pm today until noon Wednesday after which the casket will remain closed. Memorial contributions may be made to the Patient memorial Fund at Hillhaven of Topeka.
