Mrs. Mary Anna Stamm
Halstead -- Mrs. Mary Anna Stamm, 95, widow of a Civil war veteran, died in Bethel hospital at Newton Monday morning after seven years illness in the hospital.
Mrs. Stamm was born in Switzerland, July 2, 1854, came to Kansas with her parents in 1857. Her husband, George, died in 1918.
She is survived by two sons, George, Sedgwick, and Bishop John Stamm, head of the Evangelical United Brethren church, Harrisburg, Pa., and president of the Federated Council of Churches of Christ in America; three daughters, Mrs. Anna Stein, Sedgwick, Mrs. Emma Steele, Sedgwick, and Mrs. Mary Meier, Tuncumcari.
Funeral will be in the Evangelical UB church at 2 p. m. Wednesday with Revs. C. R. Findley and C. L. Sorg officiating. Burial will be in Halstead cemetery.
