Hillsboro - Mary Catherine (Cathy
Stacy) McClure was born December 19, 1949 to Max and Geneva (Stovall)
Stacy. On December 31, 1970 she was blessed by not only becoming a
wife to Jay McClure, but also by becoming a mother to Ricky Jay. In
1973, they completed their family when Karen Denise was born. Cathy
worked at various places including S/V Tools in Newton, Barkman Honey
and Hillsboro industries in Hillsboro. Cathy and Jay raised emus at
their home in Aulne.
In 1985 Cathy and Jay remolded and
opened the Dari-Ette in Hillsboro. Then the Dari Place in Marion.
Through those doors they touched the lives of many high school
students getting their first jobs.
Cathy is survived by her son Rick
McClure-Burgen (Tyler), her daughter Karen Fryhover, grandson Jordan
Fryhover, granddaughter Abby Fryhover, brother Max (Jan) Stacy,
sister Morna Rochelle, sister-in-law Linda (Ben) Streit, her two
adopted by heart daughters, Jodi Hawkinson and Molly Schofield, many
nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, plus a lot of cousins
who she was happy to have stayed in contact with through the years.
She really enjoyed the family chat set up on Messenger where everyone
kept in touch almost daily.
She was preceded in death by her
husband Jay McClure and her parents Max and Geneva (Stovall) Stacy.
