Michael B. 'Mike' Mosqueda
Michael B. "Mike" Mosqueda,
67, died Sunday (April 22, 2001) at Newton Medical Center.
He was born July 5, 1933, to Julio and
Emily (Rincon) Mosqueda in Newton. They preceded him in death. He
married Eleanor Adame Aug. 16, 1942, in Las Vegas. She survives.
He graduated from Indiana State
University. He served 22 years in the armed services of the United
States. He was enlisted from 1950 to 1995 and included enlistments in
the Navy (during the Korean Conflict), Army, Air Force and National
Guard attaining the rank of sergeant, retiring in 1995. He was a
strong supporter of the American Legion, Wayne G. Austin Post No. 2
in Newton.
Other survivors include: five sons,
Frank Padilla, Joe Padilla and Eddie Adame, all of San Bernardino,
Calif., and Mike Mosqueda and Julio Paul Mosqueda, both of Newton;
four daughters, Marie Durgin, Emily Gomez and Darlene Reyes, all of
Newton, and Eleanor Vasquez of Wichita; three brothers, Hector
Mosqueda of Peabody, Paul Mosqueda of Chula Vista, Calif., and
Armando "Pete" Mosqueda of Newton; six sisters, Susan
Mosqueda and Olivia Goodall, both of Newton, Mary Pacheco of Peabody,
Rosalinda Galle of Clearwater, Fla., Isidra Boroughs of San Diego and
Rebecca Garza of Sacramento, Calif.; 40 grandchildren; and 63
great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by: a
daughter, Dolores "Lola" Murillo; a brother, Julio "J.J."
Mosqueda; and two sisters, Helen Corona and Oralia Mosqueda.
Friends may sign the guest book until 9
p.m. today at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from
9 a. m. to 5 p. m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial service will be 7 p. m.
Thursday at the National Guard Armory.
Memorials have been established with
the Salvation Army and the American Legion Wayne G. Austin Post No.
2, both in care of the funeral home.
