Boyd Master Koehn
Moundridge - Boyd Master Koehn, 90, died Friday, August 13,
2021 at Pine Village, Moundridge.
He was born April 21, 1931 at Halstead to Simon B. and
Elizabeth (Koehn) Koehn.
He was a lifelong Halstead resident and 1949 graduate of
Halstead High School prior to moving to Pine Village.
He was a retired postal clerk for the Halstead Post Office
and following that retirement he worked as the night custodian at Halstead High
School.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War
He was a member of First Mennonite Church, Ruth-Wilson
American Legion Post 231 and served many years on the Honor Guard for parades,
funerals and many other functions.
Other memberships included board member Halstead Cemetery
Association, NRA, Ducks Unlimited, Halstead Gun Club, and the Salvation Army.
On August 7, 1954 he married Mary Ann Farber at Newton, she
preceded him in death April 20, 2007.
He is survived by sons: Mike (Shelley) Koehn and Tom (Tina)
Koehn all of Halstead; daughter: Julie (Dale) Nightingale, Hesston; six
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers; Elton and Virgil
Koehn; and sisters, Geneva Bell, Margaret Jantz and Dorothea Longley.
Viewing will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 19,
2021 at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead. The family will greet friends from
6:30-8:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 20, 2021,
First Mennonite Church, Halstead.
Memorials may be given to First Mennonite Church or Halstead
Cemetery Association in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
