Antje "Annie" Pyl, 79, died Thursday (July 25, 2002) at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
She
was born Feb. 11, 1923, to Roel and Geesje (Van Ess) Bouma in
Oosterwolde, Friesland, Netherlands. They preceded her in death. She
married Henry "Hank" Pyl Sept. 18, 1948, in Oosterwolde. He survives of
Newton.
She graduated from high school in the Netherlands. She
came to the United States from the Netherlands in January 1960. She
operated Nu Way Cleaning with her husband, a commercial cleaning
company, for 30 years. She retired in September 2001.
Other
survivors include: a son, Jelke Pyl and wife Cindy of Newton; two
daughters, Geesje Goodwin and Alie Garnica, both of Newton; a brother,
Bram Bouma of the Netherlands; two sisters, Tea Bouwknect and Bonnie Van
Der Iest, both of the Netherlands; five grandsons, Terry D. Goodwin and
wife Heather of Twin Lakes, Wis., Jeff Goodwin and wife Dene, Jeremy
Garnica, and Terry Lee Roland, all of Newton, and J.C. Roland of North
Carolina; two granddaughters, Tricia Wells and husband John of Newton
and Angie Irving and fianc John Houck of Hesston; three
great-grandsons, John David Wells II of Newton, Stephan Goodwin of Twin
Lakes and Brett Irving of Hesston; and four great-granddaughters, Kayla
Goodwin of Twin Lakes, Jaedin Goodwin, Taylor Goodwin and Justice Wells,
all of Newton.
She also was preceded in death by: a brother, Wiebe Bouma; and a son-in-law, Terry J. Goodwin.
Friends
may sign the register book until 9 p.m. today at Broadway Colonial
Funeral Home. Family will greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral
home.
Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hesston
Mennonite Church with the Rev. Beverly Baumgartner, chaplain at
Schowalter Villa, officiating.
Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Greenwood Cemetery with the Baumgartner officiating.
Memorials have been established with Schowalter Villa in care of the funeral home.
