LeeAnn McKay

LeeAnn McKay, 63, died October 22, 2021 at NMC Health in Newton, Kansas. She was born September 6, 1958 in Newton, Kansas to Eugene and Delores M. (Hopkins) Suenram. She worked as a home health aide providing in home care for her granddaughter.

LeeAnn was a member of the Wellington Free Will Baptist Church. One of her great joys in life was spending time with her daughters and granddaughters.

LeeAnn was a talented artist, and writer. She wrote many short stories and a multitude of poetry, but art was her first love. You could often find LeeAnn sketching, drawing, or painting the day away. She loved art so much that when she was in her 50's she enrolled in Hutchinson Community College in Newton Ks. At 59 she graduated and received her Associates in the Arts degree, this was one of her proudest moments in life. She was inspirational to many through the things she accomplished and by just being herself. LeeAnn was an amazing mother, grandmother, and a true friend.

She is survived by 3 daughters: Melissa A. McKay; Ashley A. McKay and Cassandra L. McKay; 2 brothers Gary Boyd and Bill Suenram. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Alexander Eason, Layla McKay, Gabrielle Torres, Evangline Torres and Hopelynn McKay. She is also survived by two extended family grandkid Kenyon Gregory and Emilio Vela

LeeAnn is preceded in death by her parents and one sister Dena Wiley.

To honor LeeAnn's life a private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Memorial suggestions in her memory may be made to Ashley McKay and left in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
