Death of Mrs. Parsons.

Mrs. Mattie Parsons, wife of Prof. C. N. Parsons, died at their home near Roswell, N. Mex, at 2:30 p. m. July 11, and the body was brought to Alva, Sunday. Funeral services were held in the M. E. Church at 5 p. m. and the remains were laid to rest in the A. O. U. W. cemetery. Mr. Parsons, Mrs. J. S. Litton, N. B. and Lee Litton, husband, mother and two brothers also her two little children, came up to attend the funeral. Besides the above named she leaves another sister and brother to mourn her untimely death. She was 34 years old. Mr. Parsons is a brother to J. E. and W. J. Parsons who live a few miles west of Alva. The Pioneer joins the many friends of the family in extending sympathy.
