Roberta Parks
Roberta "Bobbi" Parks passed
away at her residence on October 27, 2021 at the age of 73. Bobbi was
born on July 20, 1943 to Robert and Elinor Parks and spent most of
her childhood in Moundridge before moving to Newton.
Bobbi was a tireless worker that put
others' needs in front of her own. She worked 2 jobs for most of her
life at Katydid's clothing store and Newell's (Charlies) Truck Stop.
Though she was more reserved than outgoing she spent 30 years as a
waitress at Charlie's. Where she created many lifelong friendships.
It was pretty common to see multiple customers waiting in line until
a table opened in her section. She never said it but we know that
always made her feel special.
During retirement you would never see
her without her 4 legged best friend Cuddles. She loved taking her
for walks and spending time outdoors. Most of her time was spent
decorating her house, gardening, watching KU basketball and finally
seeing the Chiefs win a Super Bowl.
She loved the holidays as she would be
able to spend time with all 3 generations of her family. During these
times you could always see the happiness in her eyes. She will be
greatly missed by many but none more than her family. She loved her
family and we know is prideful of the legacy she leaves behind.
Bobbi is survived by her 3 children,
Chris Singh (Ral) of Newton, Julie Swarts (Ted Tolbert) of Newton,
Michael Parks (Amy) of Overland Park, 8 Grandchildren and 6
Great-GrandChildren.
She was preceded in death by her
parents Bob & Elinor Parks, Brother Robbie Parks, Granddaughter
Amber Swarts.
Donations can be made in Bobbi's honor
to Caring Hands Humane Society 1400 SE 3rd St Newton, KS 67114.
