Donna Christine Reiner
Newton - Donna Christine Reiner, 67, of Newton, passed away
on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at her home. She was born September 18, 1954 at
Fort Riley, Kansas, to the late Lloyd and Mary (Martin) Norberg. Donna
graduated from Bethany College in Lindsborg in 1976 and she married Steven
Reiner on October 20, 1979 at Salemsborg Lutheran Church, Kansas.
Donna was a cherished mother, grandmother and great
grandmother. She developed dear friendships through church and children's
activities throughout her marriage when her family lived in Hays, Hutchinson,
Lakin, and Newton, Kansas. She retired in 2020 from her last job – one that
brought her joy - at the Kanza Cooperative in Sedgwick; she grew up on the farm
and one of her first jobs in high school was working the harvest at the Falun
grain elevator.
She is survived by her husband: Steve of Newton, Kansas;
daughters Anne (Brendon) Bowen of Royston, Georgia, and Candace (Stephen) Smith
of Brownsville, Texas; as well as 4 grandchildren, Allison, Zachary, Mia and
Aidan, and 2 great-grandchildren, August and Spencer.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Larry
Norberg and sister-in-law Teri Norberg.
Donna's funeral service will be at 11 AM on Saturday,
October 2, 2021 at the Salemsborg Lutheran Church, 3831 W. Salemsborg Road,
Smolan, Kansas 67456. It will be broadcast live on the Salemsborg Lutheran
Church YouTube channel.
