Eugene N. Morales

CAMERON, Mo. -- Eugene "Gene" Nunez Morales, 72, formerly of Newton, died Saturday (May 22, 2004) at a health care center in Cameron, Mo. He was born Sept. 6, 1931. He was a retired car inspector for the Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of Saint Munchins Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Chapter No. 976 of Newton and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include: a son, Dan Morales of Osborn, Mo.; three daughters, Teresa Schmitz of Osborn, Cecilia Clary of Saint Joseph, Mo., and Diana Bueno of Newton; a brother, Conrad Morales of Ramona, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was earlier today at Saint Munchins Catholic Church in Cameron.

Burial will be in Saint Munchins Catholic Cemetery.
