Brian G. Rousseau, 46, died December 28, 2021 at Hillsboro Community Hospital. He was born November 30, 1975 in Grand Junction, Colorado to David and Elke (Schroeder) Rousseau.
Brian was a dedicated police officer, where he put the needs of his community above self. He was currently serving the city of North Newton as an officer. He also volunteered as a team member with the Emergency Response Team, serving with local area law enforcement. In his work as an officer he was involved with mentoring veterans and first responders with PTS. He was an alumnus of Warriors' Ascent where he continued interacting with and being a mentor and advocate. Brian earned many awards in his career as a law enforcement officer, including a valor award. When he was not serving his community Brian could be found hanging out with his friends, coaching his son's baseball team, and hunting. He especially enjoyed smoking food to share with his family and friends. Brian lived life to the fullest and was a loving husband, father, son and brother. In his circle he was also a devoted friend and warrior and will be missed by all.
In addition to his parents, Brian is survived by his Wife Erin (Fike) Rousseau; Daughter Morgan Rousseau; Son, Keegan Rousseau and a sister, Brandi Rousseau.
A celebration of life service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 6, 2021 at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church at 12th and Boyd in Newton with Chaplain Brad Penner officiating. There will be a private family interment at a late date. Memorials in Brian's memory may be made to Warrior's Ascent and left with Petersen Funeral Home.
