Barton "Bart" W. Regier, 75, died with his family at his side, Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at his rural Burrton, Kansas residence. He was born Nov. 23, 1946 at Newton, Kansas to Richard Lloyd and Vera Susan (Warkentin) Regier.
Bart was a lifelong resident of the Burrton, Halstead, Newton communities and a member of the First Mennonite Church, Halstead. He owned and operated Regier Construction, with several of his children, since June 2000.
On May 15, 1982 Bart married Maeanna R. Regier at the Bethel College Mennonite Church Chapel. She survives of the home. They shared nearly 40 years together. Bart was a dedicated and loving father to sons: Joe (Amy) Regier, and John (Gilisa) Regier, all of Newton; Larry (Sharon) Finley, Emporia; Joshua (Joaquina) Finley, Denver; Kevin (Heather) Finley, Hesston; daughter: Christa (Tracy) Jahay, Moundridge and 11 treasured grandchildren; Matthew, Richard, Cole, Thomas, Chase, Kristin, Alice, Hannah, Faith, Paityn, and Cora June.
Additional survivors include a brother: John (Diane Wilson) Regier, Lincoln, Nebraska; sister: Susan Marie (Jim) Moody, Ojai, California; brother-in-law Bernard (Evelyn) Regier, Elbing; sister-in-laws Marcia (John) Stoesz, Newton; and Jan Regier (Eldon Esau), Whitewater; many adored nieces and nephews; and the most dedicated crew members at Regier Construction, Inc.
Those unable to attend services are welcome to sign the memorial guest book from 1-5 p.m., Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead. Visitation, with family present, will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022 at First Mennonite Church, Stauffer Hall. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2022 at First Mennonite Church, Halstead, with Pastor Stephen Wilcox officiating. Interment will occur late afternoon at the Halstead Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the First Mennonite Church of Halstead or Kansas Heart Hospital Benevolent Fund in care of Kaufman Funeral Home.
