Carolyn R. Waltman, 75, passed away January 30th, 2022 at
Newton Medical center. She was born January 3rd, 1947 to Thomas F. Burns and
Wanda R. Burns (Heselius) in St. Francis, KS.
She was a high school graduate and attended drafting school.
She had one daughter Cathleen R. Nance of Newton. She was
married to her husband Perry W. Waltman on November 10th, 1990. She had several
jobs throughout her life, but her passion was art. She had displayed and sold
her paintings and jewelry at the Carriage factory art gallery in Newton and at
crafts fairs around Kansas. She loved the outdoors and her favorite things to
do, other than painting, was camping and fishing. She could spend hours just
driving the back country roads and she absolutely loved the Flint Hills and
Coronado Heights. She had a green thumb and her all time favorite hobby was
gardening, she was always happiest digging in the dirt. She was also an avid
reader and would read about any book she found.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl Burns
(brother) and Susanna Fornwalt (sister).
She is survived by her husband Perry W. Waltman, daughter
Cathleen, son in law Mike Nance, Grandsons Jeffrey (Shelby) and Dallas (Emma)
Gillmore, granddaughter Casey (Jon) Simon, great grandchildren Braxton Bell,
Gemma Gillmore, Leon Simon, Rhett Simon, Connor Gillmore and Lennon Gillmore,
brother and sister in laws Richard Burns, Mary Burns, Barbara Burns and several
cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial will be set at a later date. We ask in
