Calvin Elton Kessler, 82, died on February 5, 2022, at
NMCHealth in Newton, Kansas.
He was born September 2, 1939, in Reynoldsville,
Pennsylvania, the son of Earl and Inez (Himes) Kessler.
In September of 1956, Calvin joined the United States Army,
proudly served until December of 1959. Calvin then joined the National Guard
from which he would retire.
On April 19, 1986, Calvin was united in marriage to Sharon
Melott. The couple celebrated their 36th anniversary this past year.
Calvin is survived by his wife, Sharon Kessler; children,
Jenean Kessler, Shawn (Janice) Kessler and Rayetta Kessler; step-children, Tim
(Diana) Howell, Connie (Bill) Dutton, and Rick (Kara) Melott; brother, Richard
(Joyce) Kessler; and sister, Donna Boyer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-daughter,
Renee Howell; and great-granddaughter, Arianna Voth.
Visitation will be from 5:00pm ? 7:00pm, Thursday, February
17, 2022, at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. A graveside service will be at
1:00pm, Friday, February 18, 2022, at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Peabody, Kansas.
Memorial contributions in Calvin?s name may be made to the
Midian Shriners for Planes of Mercy or to Peabody Avenue of Flags.
