Wilma Mae (Potee) Brown, 91, passed away on January 14,
2022, at Schowalter Villa in Hesston, KS. She was born April 23, 1930 in Ames,
IA to Lindley and Daisy (Stoll) Potee.
She graduated from Ames High School in 1948 and married her
high school sweetheart, Robert (Bob) Edwin Brown on July 30, 1950. Wilma
received nurses? aid training and worked in hospitals and a nursing home.
Together, she and Bob served pastorates for 43 years in Louisburg, KS; Memphis,
TN; Van Buran, AR; Fort Dodge, IA; Wichita, KS; Scott City, KS; Parsons, KS,
Sterling, CO, and Colby, KS. They spent 20+ years of their retirement in
Parsons before moving to Schowalter Villa in Hesston, KS in 2012.
Wilma was part of many organizations including B.P.W.,
Parsons Amateur Woodworkers, Board member at Kansas Christian Home, Colorado
Christian Home, Red Cross, and many other community and church organizations.
Survivors include: sons, David (LeeAnn) Brown, El Reno, OK;
Jim (Stephanie) Brown, Augusta, KS; daughter Cindy (Randall) Loucks, Hesston,
KS; grandchildren Shawn (Sarah Estes), Jeremey Brown, Krista Miller (John),
Micah (Lucy) Loucks, Jared (Madison) Brown, Ana (Juan Carlos Diaz Quesada) Diaz
Loucks, Emma (David) Dunsmoor; 18 (soon to be 20) great-grandchildren, She is
also survived by a sister-in-law, Vivian Potee, three nieces and a nephew.
Preceded in death by husband, Robert Brown, grandson, Stacy
Schwartz, and brother, Milton Potee.
Funeral service will take place at Whitestone Mennonite
Church, on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Family will greet guests
following the service. Services can be livestreamed at www.whitestonemc.com
The family asks that out of an abundance of caution for our
small children and those that can?t be vaccinated, that you wear a mask at the
