November 25, 1931 - February 17, 2022
Mom and Dad?finally together again, forever. Margaret Katherine (Sauceda) Montano, age 90,
died on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022, at Kidron Bethel Nursing Home in North Newton,
KS surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Nov. 25, 1931, in Las Animas, CO, the daughter
of Margaret (Samaniego) and Martin P. Sauceda.
On Aug. 26, 1950, Margaret married Ramiro (Ron) Montano and they were
happily married for 66 years. To this
marriage five children were born: Alice,
Ron Jr., Richard, Alfred and Gilbert.
Preceding her in death were her loving husband, Ron Sr., son
Ron, Jr., and grandson David. She was
also predeceased by her parents, brother Ric Sauceda, and son-in-law Fred
Henry.
Survivors are daughter, Alice Henry of Derby, sons: Richard (Marlene) Montano of Topeka, Alfred
(Diana) Montano of North Newton, and Gilbert Montano Sr. of Newton. She is also survived by sisters, Gloria
Almanza of Newton and Esther Sauceda of El Dorado. She is also lovingly remembered by numerous
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Margaret was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in
Newton. She was a graduate of Newton
Senior High School. Although Margaret
had often been employed as a waitress and retail clerk, her primary and source
of deepest pride was as a homemaker and wife, mother, and grandmother to her
family. Margaret?s hobbies were going to
the casino, playing bingo and finding bargains at second-hand stores.
The casket will be open between 1:00 and 5:00 P.M., on
Thursday, Feb. 24 at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, to be followed by the
Rosary at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Newton.
There will be a private family funeral and burial.
Masks are requested to be worn.
