Kathy M. Havens, 82, died early Friday
morning, March 25, 2022, at Kansas Christian Home in Newton, Kansas.
She was born September 2, 1939, in Ingleside Nebraska.
Kathy worked hard all her life raising
children, farming, driving a pilot flag car, caring for the elderly
as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and partnering with her husband who
drove 48-state, long distance trucking.
Her hobbies included gardening, word
puzzles, researching home medical remedies, cooking and collecting
old cookbooks and she had a wonderful quirky sense of humor in her
German brogue.
Kathy is survived by her spouse John D.
Havens; her daughter Joan Parnell, and son Lamoine Wiebe; three
grandchildren, Ashley Walters, Brittany Cranor, and Courtney
Corchado, and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
her spouses, Richard Wiebe and Arthur Rall; her sons, Aldous Wiebe,
Colin Wiebe, and Vernon Wiebe; her parents, Wilton Granville and
Daisy (Meriwether) Capps; her sister Lois Jean Capps; and her
brothers Lee Capps, Don Capps, Dale Capps, Wesley Capps, and Ronald
Capps.
A Memorial Service will be held
Saturday, April 9th at 2:30 p.m. in the First Mennonite Church, 429
E. 1st Street, Newton, Kansas 67114.
