Martin Eugene ?Marty? Pruitt, 74, of Hesston, died at 5:50
P.M., Friday, March 25, 2022 at the Kansas Christian Home in Newton, Kansas.
He was born June 26, 1947 at the former Mercy Hospital at
Parsons, a son of Norman F. ?Pete? and Lorene (McCann) Pruitt.
He was raised at Parsons and attended school here,
graduating from the Parsons High School with the Class of 1965. He then
attended Pittsburg State University and was drafted into the United States Army
prior to graduating. During his service he was stationed at Ft. Riley, KS and
he attended Kansas State University. He was discharged in 1971 and returned to
Parsons. He graduated from the Pittsburg State University later that year. He
moved to Hesston in 1972 and began employment at Hesston Corporation (now
AGCO). He continued employment there as Senior Design Engineer until his
retirement. He later worked two years at TRIBINE. Marty had numerous patents
for agricultural machines and parts in his name.
On February 6, 1971 he was united in marriage to Sharon K.
Sitsler at Rural McCune. She survives of the home.
He enjoyed woodworking, yard work, piddling in his garage,
traveling and spending time with friends.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one daughter and
son in-law Lori A. and Todd Ferguson, Girard; five grandchildren Brett E.
Ferguson, Jordanne R. Ferguson, Justin E. Ferguson, Emily R. Ferguson, Aric E.
Ferguson, All of Girard; one sister Sharon Reeves, Parsons.
His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March
30, 2022 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home with Richard Shouse officiating.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery with Military Honors given by the
Brown-Bishop Post No. 704, Veterans of Foreign Wars. The family will receive
friends from 5:00 until 7:00 Tuesday evening. Memorials are suggested to Good
Shepherd Hospice or to Kansas Christian Home. These may be left at or mailed to
