Josephine Lucille Frantz Holdeman Eslinger, 92 of Canton,
died April 3, 2022 at The Cedars, McPherson. She was a retired bookkeeper.
Josie, as she was called, was born at Salem Hospital in
Hillsboro, on August 1, 1929 to Peter H. and Justina (Pankratz) Frantz. She
graduated from Durham High School in 1947.
Glen Holdeman and Josie were married on December 12, 1952 in
Newton. They had two daughters, Glenna Jo and Susan Marie. Glen preceded her in
death in 1986. Josie later married Everett Eslinger on June 19, 1993 in Newton
and moved to Canton, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2020.
Josie is survived by daughter Glenna Coleman of
Independence, Missouri and daughter Susan (John) Gordon of Nebraska City,
Nebraska; grandson Nick (Shanna) Gordon of Omaha, Nebraska and granddaughter
Kara
(Anthony) Tran of San Diego, California; three
greatgrandchildren, Lochlan and Emberly and one is due in October and Gideon
Tran of San Diego, California. Also, by seventeen living nieces and nephews and
many great nieces and nephews. She also has eight living nieces and nephews
from Everett?s side. Additionally, she leaves many friends to mourn her loss.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Burial at Restlawn Gardens of Memory in Newton will be at
10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2022, with a memorial service following at 11:30
a.m. at Olson?s Mortuary, Canton.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to
Kindred Hospice Care, McPherson or the Canton Senior Center, in care of the
mortuary.
