Hallie Delphine Fields Lindsey
Hallie Delphine Fields Lindsey, 76, passed away on April 1,
2022 peacefully at her home in Oxnard, California where she lived for over 50
years.
Hallie was born on September 26, 1945 to William and Hallie
(Green) Fields in Newton Kansas; the youngest of five from this union but also
the youngest in a large extended family with 13 half siblings.
She married Alan Wayne Lindsey on September 29, 1961 at the
age of 16. Moving from Kansas as a young married women to follow her husband to
California, she learned that family is more than the people who share your DNA.
Family is made up of those to whom you can open your heart. In her younger days
she was known as Mom to many of the children in the neighborhood. The front
door was always open and a homemade cookie was there for the asking.
Her greatest joys were her family and cooking, showing by
example that there was always enough for one more at the table, even if that
person was a stranger in the beginning.
Hallie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers:
Alfred Fields, Benny Fields, Robert Field and sister: Armentia Holinde and 11
half-siblings.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Alan Wayne
Lindsey; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and David Hornback, Kathren and Dean
Thawley, and Tami and Glenn Ellis and her six grandchildren, Travis, Courtney,
Cory, Ryan, Colin and Morgan. And her large extended family of sisters and
brothers-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews. All of whom she loved dearly. An
intimate service is planned at Pierce Brothers
