Conner James McClelland, 19, passed
away on Monday (July 18, 2022) in Newton, Kansas.
He was born June 5, 2003 in Newton, to
Crystal Sutton and Jeff McClelland. Conner grew up in Kansas and the
Oklahoma City area and lived one year in Wyoming.
Conner met and had planned to marry
Laynie Mayes, a longtime girlfriend that he loved dearly. He loved
gaming, the outdoors, going to the lake, camping, hiking and visiting
National Parks on family vacations. He also enjoyed playing Fantasy
games with the boys and strumming his guitar.
Survivors include his father Jeff
McClelland and Ashley of Newton; mother Crystal Chappell and Tyler of
Little River, Ks.; three sisters Renee Boyce, Addison McClelland, and
Lilly Smith; two brothers Cody Chappell and Liam McClelland;
grandparents Jimmy and Cheryl Sutton, Donald and Barbara McClelland
all of Newton, Randy Chappell of Haven, and Linda Martinez of Newton;
great grandparents J.R. and Judith Sutton of Little River; girlfriend
Lanyie Mayes of Hesston; aunts, uncles, cousins; and a host of
friends.
The casket will be open at the funeral
home Thursday (July 21) between 1:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. where the
family will receive friends between 5:00 and 7:00 P.M.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00
A.M., Saturday (July 23) at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church
in Newton.
