Marilynn Mae Collier
Marilynn Mae Collier, 76, died Monday (March 6, 2006) at her residence in Newton.
She married Walter Collier Aug. 22, 1948, in Newton. He preceded her in death.

She was raised and attended schools in Newton, graduating from Newton High School, and had worked in the meat market for Dillon's in Newton and was a clerk at the Good Earth General Store. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Newton. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading, knitting, music, working on the Newton High School class of 1948 reunion committee and sharing time with her family and friends.

Survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas David Collier and Mary E. of Newton; a daughter and son-in-law, Beth Ann and Gary L. Wonders of Newton; a brother-in-law, George Collier of Amarillo, Texas; grandsons, Brian and wife Missy Wonders of Newton and Jeff Wonders of Newton; nieces, Judy Taylor and husband Ron of Morrison, Colo., and Candace Collier of Amarillo; and a brother, Frankie Lehr of Newton.

She also was preceded in death by: her parents, Julia Elizabeth (Bowling) and Charles Lawrence Lehr; a sister, Meredythe Mae Arnold; and brothers, Eddie Karl Lehr and Charles Lehr Jr.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. today at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home with the Rev. James W. Anderson officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials have been established with Kansas Christian Home and Newton Meals on Wheels, both in care of the funeral home.
