Donald Lional Crombie, 58, of Newton, died Wednesday, June
15, 2022 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on
January 27, 1964 in Gresham, Oregon.
Donnie liked putting things together, especially puzzles,
legos, and model cars. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping, fishing,
flying drones, and swimming at the lake. He loved telling stories and jokes and
making people laugh. He loved cars and motorcycles.
Donnie loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, and
other loved ones, especially his son Damien. He was supportive and kind and
helped others any chance he got.
He is survived by his sons Nathan Reile of Ponca City,
Oklahoma and Damien Crombie of Newton, daughters Melissa Sponsel of Cheney and
Isabella Cook of South Haven, step-daughters Amber Koehn of Newton and April
Crabtree of Wichita; grandchildren Kane Guffey, Avery Sponsel, Dominic Sponsel,
Aiden Sponsel, Eli Weber, Madison Hershberger, Elijah Koehn, Stella Linn,
Steven Crabtree, Jasmyn Crabtree, Kayden Crabtree, and Autymn Crabtree; his
mother Elaine Richter; brother Daryl Crombie both of Auburn, Washington; sister
Corena Crombie of Newton; and many others who considered Donnie to be a beloved
father and grandfather figure.
Don was preceded in
death by his father Daryl Crombie; daughter Christina Gustavsen; wife Adele Laing;
and brother Jeffrey Combie.
The casket will be open at the funeral home on Monday, June
20th after 1:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 P.M., Monday, June
20th at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
