Wesley ?Dave? Lee, 62, died June 20, 2022, at his home in
Newton, Kansas.
Dave was born in Newton on October 26, 1959, the son of Mylo
Jr. and Bonnie (Shields) Lee. He attended Newton High School graduating with
the class of 1977.
In 1980, Dave joined the United States Army, where he served
for 8 years as a combat engineer.
Dave enjoyed all sorts of outdoor activities, hunting,
fishing, and traveling. When he lived in Iowa, he taught hunter safety courses.
For the last few years prior to COVID, Dave would
occasionally attend First Christian Church in Newton. He was also involved in
any of his grandkids activities, and was always the happiest when surrounded by
them.
Dave was very much a family man, which included many who
were not necessarily blood related, he didn?t care. If you were in Dave?s life?
you were part of his family.
Dave is survived by his children, Christopher Lee, Jhonathan
(Alicia) Lee, Jarrod Lee, and Dakota (Miguel) Hernandez; 10 grandchildren, four
great-grandchildren brother, Danial J. Lee; sisters, Marti Lee Verschelden and
N. June Tinsley; and many other beloved family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mylo and Bonnie
Lee; daughter, Tanya Renae Barber; and sister, Brenda Chamberlain.
A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church on
Saturday, July 2, 10:30 a.m. Family is inviting anyone to join us in a ?meet
and greet? in the Fellowship Hall prior to service.
