SEDGWICK?Marvin D. Hatch, 79, died Monday, June 20, 2022, at
Paramount Healthcare, Newton. He was born Jan. 12, 1943, on the family farm in
rural Burlington, Kansas to Homer Dale and Grace Irene (Goodrick) Hatch.
He attended one room Patmus School and graduated from
Gridley High School. He also earned Bachelors, Masters and Specialist degrees
from Emporia State.
He was a process engineer for Cessna and Raytheon
specializing in adhesive testing.
He was a member of Valley Center United Methodist Church and
taught the Pathfinders Sunday School Class and Bible Study. He was also a
member of the Valley Center Lions Club.
On Aug. 1, 1965 he married Marilyn Jean Stamm at Sedgwick
United Methodist Church; she survives of the home.
Other survivors include son: Thomas Hatch, Newton;
daughters: Kristina (Brandon) Herl, El Paso, Texas; Rebecca (Philip) Leininger,
Auburn, Nebraska; brothers: Clark (Irene) Hatch, Topeka, Kansas; Gary (Beth)
Hatch, McKinney, Texas; Dennis (Connie) Hatch, Burlington, Kansas; sister:
Elaine Platt, Gridley, Kansas; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Doreen Smith.
Visitation with the family will be 6:30-8 p.m. Sunday, June
26 and memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2022 both at Valley
Center United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Ji Soek Ju officiating.
Inurnment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick.
Memorial gifts may be given to Valley Center United
Methodist Church or Good Shepherd Hospice in care of Kaufman Funeral Home,
Halstead.
