Donna Mae Richards, 91, of Hesston,
passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Wesley Medical Center in
Wichita.
She was born Aug. 28, 1930, in
McPherson County, the daughter of Fred and Marian (Tolle) Jacobson.
Donna graduated from Roxbury High
School with the class of 1948.
She attended the Roxbury United Parish
in Roxbury, where she also played the organ.
Donna had an enduring love for music
and provided piano and organ music for hundreds of weddings, funerals
and events. She also acted as a poll worker in local elections.
Donna was united in marriage to Herbert
Overton. From this union, their son Anthony was born. She later
married Lee Richards on Dec. 4, 1982, in Hesston. He preceded her in
death on Sept. 10, 2014.
She worked as an administrative
assistant and office manager at Hesston Corp. for many years.
She is survived by her son, Tony
(Yvonne) Overton of Buhler; four stepdaughters, Pam Long, Lori
Swanson, Diane Webber and Nancy Dwyer; three grandchildren, Michael
Overton, Andy (Candice) Overton and Sarah (David) Jones; and one
great-grandson, Otto Overton.
Donna was preceded in death by her
parents, husband and brother, Jay Verona.
Cremation is planned. Memorial services
will be announced and held later. Burial will take place later at
Valley View Cemetery, Roxbury.
