Hillsboro - Viola Faye Lohrentz, 79, passed away August 2, 2022 at Newton Medical Center. She was born June 28, 1943 in Hillsboro to Frank and Martha (Franz) Peters. She married Ray Lohrentz in July of 1998 in Hillsboro. Viola was married to Norman Funk for 31 years and together they had 4 children. Survivors include: husband: Ray Lohrentz of Inman; son, Jerry Funk of Buhler; daughters, Karen Funk of McPherson, Kristy Funk of Brandon, Florida; brother, Virgil (KayLani) Peters of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sister, Neoma (Lester) Flaming of Buhler; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by a son Arlin Funk in 2002. Celebration of Life service 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2022 at Parkview M.B. Church Officiated by Pastor Tom Byford. Committal service 10:00 a.m. Monday at Gnadenau cemetery 2 miles South of Hillsboro. Family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
