Donald James Schroeder, 85, passed away
on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Schowalter Villa, Hesston, KS. He was
born on April 15, 1937, in Goessel, KS to John A. and Bertha (Frey)
Schroeder.
He married Maris J. Miller on June 30,
1961 in Crystal Springs, KS. She passed away October 1, 2018.
Donald was a graduate of Goessel High
School. He farmed for 50 years in northeast Hesston. He worked at
Hesston Corporation for 43 years as a tool and die operator, retiring
in 1999. Donald was a member of the Garden Community Church.
Donald is survived by son, Kerry
(Donica) Schroeder of Harper, KS; daughter, Stacey (Ron) Mumaw of
Hesston; brother, Robert (Glady) Schroeder of Manhattan, KS;
grandchildren, Michael Mumaw, Cequinda Mead, Jeff Mumaw, Jason
Schroeder, Weston Schroeder and Kenton Schroeder;
great-grandchildren, Abbigail, Aubrey, Adeline, Annabelle and
Alexander Mead and Dean Schroeder.
Donald was preceded in death by his
parents; wife, Maris; sisters, Kathleen Bair and Carolyn Wedel.
A funeral service will be 3:00 p.m.,
Friday, August 5, 2022 at Garden Community Church, rural Hesston,
with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
