Hershberger, Erlis J

Erlis J Hershberger Erlis J. Hershberger, 70, died Sunday (Dec. 29, 2002) at Friendly Acres Retirement Community in Newton.
He was born May 16, 1932, to Edward and Alma (Stauffer) Hershberger in Milford, Neb. They preceded him in death.
He farmed with his brother for a while before moving to Hesston to live with his mother. He worked as a machinist for Hesston Corp. while living in Hesston. He lived in the Kidron Bethel apartments before moving to Friendly Acres.
Survivors include: three brothers, Vilas Hershberger and Tillman Hershberger, both of Hesston, and Abner Hershberger of Goshen, Ind.; and four sisters, Lyla Garber of Lititz, Pa., Viva Garber of Goshen, Lydia Hochstettler of Albany, Ore., and Erma Janzen of Boise, Idaho.
He also was preceded in death by: a brother, Weldon Hershberger; and a sister, Berdella Bender.
Graveside service was Thursday at Eastlawn Cemetery in Zimmerdale.
Funeral service was Thursday at Bethel College Mennonite Church with Pastor Norma Johnson of the church and Pastor Glenn Perkins of New Life Assembly of God officiating.
