Vernon D. Pauls, 92, died Aug. 20,
2022, at Kidron Bethel Health Care facility, North Newton.
He was born Aug. 3, 1930, in rural
Inman to George A. and Sarah (Fehdrau) Pauls. Before moving to Newton
in 2006, he lived in the McPherson area where he spent 28 years
working in the school system as a guidance counselor.
He is survived by his wife, Janice, of
the home; two sons, Steve (Linda) Pauls of Fresno, Calif., and Brian
(Nikki) Pauls of Overland Park; brothers Melvin (Nancy) Pauls of
Newton and Ronald (Evelyn) Pauls of Henderson, Neb.; a sister,
Lavella (Howard) Delaplane of Ames, Okla.; five grandchildren, Rowan,
Nolan and Daniel Pauls of Fresno, Calif., and Eleanor (Yiyi) Pauls
and Simone (Cece) Pauls of Overland Park; numerous nieces, nephews
and friends.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, an infant daughter and a brother-in-law.
